The Magens Bay Authority (MBA) is the organization responsible for the planning & operations of Magens Bay, as well as several other nearby properties deeded by Arthur S. Fairchild and Lindquist (Lindqvist)/Smith Bay Beach Park. While Friends and MBA may partner with each other on certain initiatives, the two are entirely separate organizations. Towards increasing community participation, Friends aims to increase awareness of MBA operations.
According to the VI Legislature’s FY 2026 budget calendar, MBA's budget hearing will be Monday August 18 2025 at 1:00PM-3:00PM.

The MBA is a corporate instrumentality of the VI government, whose powers are defined in V.I. Code tit. 32, § 51-64 (2019).
