Lots of upcoming events taking place at Magens Bay!

Events:

• Tomorrow, Fri May 9 7:30-11:00AM: Seniors staying active & strong fitness event

• Fri May 16 9:00AM: MBA board meeting [tentative]

• Sat May 17 10:00AM: Friends community meeting on Zoom (and at a picnic table near Shed 4, weather permitting)

• Sat May 24 11:00AM-until: All Saints Slider Showdown

• Sat Jun 14: King of the Wings

• Jun 30-Jul 25, Mon-Fri 8:15AM-2:30PM: St Thomas Reformed Church summer camp at shed 3

• Wednesday evenings about 45 minutes before sunset (~6PM): Friends trash walks starting in the chair rental area (date subject to change)

Friends updates:

• On Fri Apr 18, a few of us joined Eleanor Gibney for an informative – but very rainy – walk through the arboretum. One of the highlights for me was the giant Ceiba (Kapok) tree; photo here. (Is it old enough to have been planted by the Taino who once settled at Magens? I don’t know, but I’d like to imagine so!)

• Robert Messick has been working on getting us incorporated.

• Alyssa Roy has been working on getting us active on facebook.
