Upcoming MBA board meeting, and MBA board membership changes

There will be an MBA board meeting this Friday September 9 at 9:00 AM at Shed 4 (MBA announcement).

In MBA board news, Katina Coulianos’s term on the board is expiring, and she has not been renewed for another term. This leaves big shoes to fill, as she has served for 26 years, including as the former chair, and brought many assets to the board, including her extensive knowledge of trees and landscaping. Both Gene Brin and myself (Sara Smollett), having previously applied for the 2021 board vacancy, were contacted by MBA Monday and have re-expressed interest in being considered. It is unclear whether/how applications will be considered, but should either of us be selected, I expect we would vacate the Friends board.

Regardless of whether this happens, this is as good of a time as any to solicit more Friends board members and working group members. If you would be willing to serve, please email board@friendsmagens.org; we keep the time commitment to a minimum, and our meetings are all virtual rather than in-person.
