Upcoming:

• There is an MBA board meeting this Friday, September 20 at 9AM on zoom [LINK TO ATTEND]

• Shaun would like to go birdwatching with others [her email]. The first meetup will be Sunday, September 22 at 8AM.

• Weekly(ish) Friends trash cleanups. The next one is scheduled for Thursday, September 26 at 5:30PM. Meet around the Chairs area, and bring bags and gloves if desired.

Incorporating:

We have filed for incorporation and have an EIN, but are still waiting on our business license. We have the friendsmagens.org domain and friendsmagens.org mailing lists for the working groups.

Magens happenings:

There’s a real estate listing for 20 acres of land along Magens Bay in Misgunst that had been part of the Nature Conservancy deal.

As there have been several questions about cruise ship excursions, this is a list of known cruise ship excursions operating at Magens.

Calls for volunteers:

• There have been past complaints about the traffic at the entrance due to taxis. MBA met with the taxi association in mid June [Source coverage]. Have we seen improvements since then?

• Send a short quote we can use about why you are a Friend, why Magens is so special to you, and/or why the preservation of Magens matters to you.

• Review the website before it goes live. Email info@friendsmagens.org for access.

• Volunteer for working groups. (We added a new group for Animals since the last time I sent out the form.)
